In the original story (which the AI of course couldn't be bothered to cite) the princess does NOT kiss the frog but yeet it at the wall instead, which -- unlike a kiss -- unleashed enough power to remove the curse and reveal the prince. I really thought for long minute if I should keep the 'happy accident' in the official version, and then, for being honest to my original scenario, I fixed it.
