       @aral visits from Canada are down about 30% too. A lot of seniors travel there annually during the winter, own property. People living near the border can take short trips across for gas or groceries. It used to be easy, no passport required just some kind of ID, off you go. That changed over decades and now it's too much trouble and risk to go get a tank of gas and groceries.

       @aral @Dadmin People are planning their oversees vacations at the end of the year because they have to submit their vacation days by the end of December. It feels crazy, but Trump hasn't even been in office for a year, and many of the 2025 vacations were planned and booked before he took office. Often, flights can no longer be canceled. People then take the vacations they booked, and the real crash will come in 2026.
