@dot 1 as the best DQ is certainly a take... I am a fan of the first game (love me my famicom RPGs...) but I prefer the second much more over the first. I haven't played any of the remasters or remakes though so my only experience has been with the NES dragon warriors releases for either.

@missfeast the remake of 6 is good and has some improvements but I just prefer the snes version of 6. haven't played the 3DS version of 7 but i knew that it'd be shit after experiencing the sublime intro of the PSX version. perfect intro that set the tone for the rest of the experience.

@MURRUMUR they switched to using a cinematic camera and then had to make it so that when your attcks sent enemies flying, the arc would be capped so the enemy would stay on screen and that's about the perfect encapsulation of playstation's game design this generation.
