Currently re-watching the Matrix Reloaded after several years, and a thought occurs:Why didn't they make it so she asks to kiss Trinity instead?Missed opportunity.

@shironeko @shironeko they didn't need to make any sequels tbh. the first one was perfect. i quite like 2 though. 3 and 4 i normally skip - 4 when i'm in a good mood and want to see failure. 4 fails seemingly intentionally, almost as if the director didn't want it to exist.

@libreleah @shironeko well I mean depending on what you read it's either WB forced Lana's hand with the film i.e. they were going to make another with or without her OR she made it to help her with the passing of her parents. or both really. I believe it was both. The thing with the 4th film is it reads a lot like the fake "leaked" scripts that would pop up online before the 2nd and 3rd films were released. I remember reading those fake leaks back in the day and they just read like obvious fan fiction with way too many references and callbacks to the first film and the 4th literally does exactly that. "Hey remember what happened in the previous couple movies? well here you go!" And if you played The Matrix Online, which is canon according to the Wachowskis, then a lot of the stuff in the 4th film is just a rehashing of the events of that game. And then you realize they don't solve anything, the Machines always win, they always end up getting what they want and nothing really changes. Literally by the end of the 4th film everything is pretty much the exact same with the exception that Neo and Trinity have woken up again. that's it. THAT's the only thing that changes.Apologies for going on a rant in you thread but man...at the end of the day you're 100% right. the 4th film is one that didn't need to happen.
