@ygathgoch yeaaah, docker has definitely not been my friend. Like, ever.Unfortunately for me, this device was setup by someone else, so, I don't really even have basic control over it (it runs 3 or 4 things that I can't just wipe+recreate).Quite painful, really.Although pihole, when it's working, is pretty damn good. I'm happy about that. Mostly it doesn't break too often, maybe once a year.bitwarden can go fuck itself though. that's been nothing but pain. Necessary, alas, but ugh.

@sidawson out of curiosity you using full official bitwarden? I found that sucked hard because for my use of all the database nonsense. I run vaultwarden instead now (single container, no fluff, fully compat with bitwarden apps etc.)

@alex vaultwarden.but yeah, crashes hard every 3mo or so (so far, on average).it's currently been down for maybe 3mo, can NOT find the spoons to dive into that nightmare again (last time it took 3 days of doing nothing else, in order to get it working again - had 5 separate obscure, interacting, things broken).I've been using linux since maybe 91. coding 40 years. shit shouldn't be this fucked up. And yet here we are.

@sidawson oh that's surprising - and disappointing - it's been rock solid for me, hence asking - but I run it on a mini pc not a pi (because of the afore mentioned SD cards nonsense causing issues with higher read/write cycles)

@alex Ahh yeah. I stopped caring about hardware specifics a couple of decades ago (stopped being fun sticking insulation paste on CPUs etc after a couple of decades of it). So, I really want everything below MY software layer to "just work" ha ha. Lazy, I guess, but also, there is SO much to everything, now. Who has time? Sheesh. If I was single, sure, I could take it up as a hobby, but I'm not. Soooo.

@sidawson yeah totally understand. I've greatly cut down on the recreational sysadmin (brain doesn't handle it well) but saving $'s means I still self host a bunch of stuff.I'm also not somewhere where there is decent internet so anything cloud kinda sucks so am a little forced to do so...

@alex <nod> yeaaah, lots of solid reasons to keep things local. I'm a big fan of that approach myself (regardless of internet perf)

@sidawson @alex given I've been running Vaultwarden since it was bitwarden_rs, perhaps I can assist you by providing a few spoons. Are you running it with the Sqlite DB or something else?

@lightweight Appreciate the offer, but middle of my work day. Wrestling busted server right now. Would need to login to the pi to get any info (ie, commit next however-many-hours/days to fixing this issue).

@sidawson another time, perhaps. Let me know if you're interested sometime. I can provide the relevant vidconf facilities w/screen sharing 😀

@lightweight Thanks Dave, appreciate it. I have read access, and I very rarely create new logins, so, I'm struggling along fine for now. Life/home is wayyyy too exhausting to dedicate much time/effort to these issues - especially when it was only a month between wasting 3 days on it, and it breaking again. Need those spoons for my day job (slightly higher up the stack).
