This morning, as the zfs-send/receive had finished its job during the night, I performed the last sync and moved FediMeteo from the previous 4 euros/month VPS - netcup - to a 4 euros/month VPS - OVH, Milano, Italy. Thanks to #BastilleBSD and the jail setup, it was easy peasy. So, the weather forecasts are now broadcasted from Italy and the performance has skyrocketed - while still being served by a 4 euro/month VPS. I suspect the netcup VM had been capped by the provider - but I'll investigate.So...Ciao, FediMeteo!#FreeBSD #RunBSD #OwnYourData #VPS #FediMeteo

@stefano FediMeteo is much faster for me. Both mastodon.bsd.cafe and git.hardenedbsd.org are slow as snails, here in Brazil.

@michel @0x1eef thank you! The latency are similar (a little lower to Italy, I see, than to Finland)

@stefano @0x1eef on web, the instance works fine. My main problem was with the android client. Changed it and now it seems a lot better. Let's see if it keeps that way on the next days.(the issue was mainly with the media)

@michel @0x1eef thanks! could you also ping media.bsd.cafe and tell me which ip is serving the media? There's an OpenBSD node in the USA and they should come from there. I tested it when I was in Canada and it was ok.
