RE: https://noauthority.social/@eriner/115659217556464285This, times a million.I haven't read through the thread yet, but the importance of getting actual borosilicate glass cannot be overstressed. However, I'm not sure that depending on the branding printed on the product will continue to be reliable.I'm going to read through this thread now, as see if anyone has mentioned videos explaining and demonstrating how to test the glass yourself, something to do with refraction something something. Also, it has to be the right color.

Unfortunately, whatever the test is, it cannot be performed until AFTER you have made the purchase and have the item in hand.

@IceCubeSoupSaw a good one on this topic a while ago. You're right the logo is not reliable. Those tests aren't really either though.https://youtube.com/watch?v=2DKasz4xFC0The guy suggests corningware as an alternative but I had never seen that there was clear corningware until your post just now.

@Zennagain probably not in the microwave long enough to matter. doesn't take much to melt chocolateunless you are going to boil the chocolate away and burn it to a charcoal lump.

@IceCubeSoup They might actually be another victim of the tariffs. I'm trying to figure out where they can be purchased and will update when able.

@1over7 @IceCubeSoup i don't think so, i think pyrex cheaped out a half decade ago, i've heard people complaining about them. However, unless they changed the spout, i'd probably still buy the "pyrex" branded stuff because every other similar measuring glassware like that spills shit *everywhere* and PYREX/pyrex doesn't.
