Mastodon users: we need quote postsMastodon: but you will just do quote dunks on people Mastodon users: nuh uh we're very good peopleMastodon: ok here you goMastodon users: quote dunks on peopleMastodon: but at least you can hide your post on showing that quote postMastodon users: the hidden quote is a monument of "lol they are too weak"I am not surprised, Fedi has turned more and more into twitter.

@aks@scalie.zone I don't see the problem. All other fedi software has had quote posts for years and Mastodon is just really late to the party once again. Also the point was always to provide a twitter-like experience but with free software and decentralized. Isn't it being more like Twitter a good thing then?

@SuperDicq @aks Yeah, this is like saying 'Mastodon shouldn't have a reply feature in case someone says something mean'

@SuperDicq the problem is that mastodon is popular and attracts most twitter users here who think shitting on other people is a job(I know mastodon is just one of the things. I used to have akkoma instance)

@aks@scalie.zone So instead of dealing with shitty people (who will be shitty people regardless) you propose it is better to remove features because that will automatically fix people's behavior?
