       openbsd is such a satisfying operating system. i installed it on an old underpowered x86 desktop and have been using it to help avoid distractions, and just... looking at the operating system logs is almost soothing. not much is happening, you just see the essential services that you immediately know, as it tells you exactly what stage it's in. the login page is blissfully simple. i did install xfce, but i definitely don't regret that. it helped me.it just helps so much to cut away the noise sometimes

       @phoenix plus, it sort of feels like linux took all of the innovations that the bsds had in the past that gave it an edge. i'm honestly not entirely sure what the advantages are these days outside of hobbyist projects and firewalls.

       @wizard yea i am honestly not even dreaming of replacing my normal desktop with bsd, the restrictions are what make it appealing to me so as to limit myself and make computing simpler specifically in my bedroom so as to slow myself down like hyperthreading disabled dual core is a GREAT deterrent to not open discord in the browser lol

       @wizard this environment is bringing me back to when i was just starting with open source, and now i'm excited to see how i can do my life tasks with these limitations using open source software i know again
