@elftummy nah, the only factor blocking their import was the chicken tax, but Toyota has been building trucks here forever.Don't forget, we DID get the Hilux, for like 30 years. The original Toyota Pickup was just a USDM Hilux and they were hated at the time, it was the poor people's shit truck. Toyota then renamed it something American-ish, put a bigger motor in it, better suspension, and made the seats bigger for fat american asses and now the Tacoma is one of the best selling light trucks on the market

@elftummy if Toyota wanted to put the Hilux out in the US they'd do it as a one-off top trim of the Tacoma to bait all the toyotaboos into paying 80 grand for it, they wouldn't need to introduce a truck made for third world markets and a country where the top speed is "fast idle"

you'll be able to buy an F-150 that's not entirely made out of recycled Pepsi cans. 100% Ultra lightweight aluminum structure. I have a 1991 Dodge d250 3/4 ton long bed that looks like it's an S10 in comparison to my 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a V6 . My Dodge would literally drag the Chevy sideways down the road without any issue and yet the Chevy is so large I can actually hide the Dodge behind it.
