@Lady_Penelope I'm terribly paranoid these days about music sources retuning the voices of amazing singers from years gone by. To my ear that sounds a teensy bit too smooth to be Kitt's unadulterated voice.Still, it's Kitt so obviously great. @Gnomeshatecheese Yes there was an audio guy a while back doing side by sides of reloads and originals, was pointing out the subtle changes. He also compared Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland and Kelly Clarkson. No shade on Clarkson other than to point out that he could tell where the tech was sparingly involved despite her being an excellent singer, and as a result, why well never get another Judy.

@FeartnTired @Lady_Penelope I listen to Fil (with an F) quite a bit.He basically does his videos based on requests, and it seems people are these days mostly requesting modern artists and asking about autotune. It does suggest that a lot of people are genuinely interested and likely put off by the autotuning. He has also pointed out that autotuning singers being an industry standard works in the favour of record labels, since it's easier for them to publish a dime-a-dozen mediocre singer who happens to have the right look, than trying to find the real gems. I do enjoy most those videos where he analyses singers from pre-autotune days, but he doesn't seem to be getting requests for them nearly as much. I kind of want to break my rule of never commenting on YT to put in a request for someone he hasn't covered yet, but I have no idea how big his request backlog is.

@Lady_Penelope They're now even autotuning the original great singers. I think one I heard about not that long ago was some producer decided it was a great idea to autotune Freddie Mercury on a new release. (Don't quote me on this though, I'm not 100% sure it was Mercury, just that it was someone shocking.)
