Why are video editors so fucking opaque to use? A project? Wtf is a project? Why do i need one? I just want to open file, cut a lump out and save the lump. What the fuck are all these windows? Was the ux person having a fucking stroke? (I don't want advice about how i should use your personal fav video editor thx. I'm just venting. I always end up using ffmpeg. Or sometimes avidemux)

@botvolution Ha! Apples QuickTime was perfect for this. Two little cursors, play to select, slide them, when you got it, you could delete or cut/paste. Lovely interface paradigm. They dumped it. I think VLC can do this. But yeah ffmpeg!!!

@tomjennings VLC *can* do it, but it it's a lottery. Will I be lucky this time? Or will the video be too fast? Or will it be too slow? Or will it be rotated 90 degrees? Or will I get video at all? maybe I'll get just audio?Every time I try to use VLC for something, I end up on the same Reddit thread where everyone's going "hahahah no"
