       @jazzilla yes but the traditional stake to kill a vampire needs to be made of metal to ground it to the Earth. The silver may have some similar reasoning for werewolves or just the fact that silver kills bacteria/viruses and a lot of werewolf stories were allegories for humans contracting rabies.
