@nosat good question; we tried a crypto subscription service in the past but it was sometimes unreliable. looking into recurring crypto payment options; BoomFi, Loop, Inqud. any suggestions?

@liberdon not sure about those types of service providersyou could just offer yearly subscriptions for crypto payment to make it easier to processeth, monero, and Bitcoin Cash should cover most users

@amerika @liberdon If the chaff creates a badwidth (bandwith typo!) burden on the network then yes, otherwise a user-configurable smart-filter seems preferable to me. Small finetuned models under a few GB RAM and runnable on CPU can be feasibly finetuned to this task.

@clort @liberdon Maybe, but the point of an algo (even one less psycho than PageRank or whatever Twitter is running) is to make content rise, and that in the end is a good thing; however, it is done in a psychotic way on the big sites.

@nosat yeah, unfortunately we've already had federated content retention set pretty low for a while, but even with that the costs continued to rise over time as the federated content expands. but I think we should be good now.
