       The most important thing to consider when reading something is to look into the writer, since what's written is a reflection of the writer's self or belief. For example I always regard Oswald Spengler in a high matter since his writings influenced me a lot but I will keep calling him a retard because he was a coward who ran away after finding out that the Caesar he prophesied came into existence, and this Caesar wanted a man of action, something that Spengler was bereft of.It goes without saying that while seeing the ethnicity is important, the more pressing issue to see how their life turned out. Nietzsche spent his life chasing over a woman who's in a relationship with another man and subsequently went insane after finishing his magnum opus, Dostoevsky's had to finish a book within months in order to earn a 3rd world wage, Tolkien fought at Somme, and many more.
