The only thing I needed on black Friday was a good ole gas lawn mower, guess what zero off at the home depot. I burned thru 2 pos electric mowers in 3 years, gas for me from here on out.

@Centerfinger same thing happened to me...... I WANTED the electric mowers to work out (noise, smell) but both broke way soon. I thought maybe I was too early in the market. Then I bought a used gas mower from a guy on Craigslist about 4 years ago for $35. Not just push, with a drive! Still running.

@GluedToTheScreen @Centerfinger electric shit seems engineered to fail. my mom went all in on electric stuff, she wanted to be high tech, and every time she goes to use them they just don't start. not built robust. I never see landscapers etc with battery electric stuff.

@bajax @GluedToTheScreen I have sticks and giant tree pods to mulch, electric can't handle it. Granted my first electric mower death was probably my fault, I didn't use a popper gauge power cord, I think I shorted it out somehow.

@Centerfinger @GluedToTheScreen it probably melted something up inside, it's weird how that works-- sometimes resistance earlier in the circuit seems to cause heat to build up inside the device. dunno what causes that--quick research while drafting shows it happens in switching power supplies and electric motors lol, the former is where I observed this and the latter is your case.

@bajax @Centerfinger @GluedToTheScreen we should skin a homeless man amd wear his flesh around town and if the cops bother us we can just eat them then we can take off our amazing hobo disguise and go back to normal society itll be oir little secret

@Centerfinger @GluedToTheScreen (happens because voltage drop causes those typs of circuits to draw more current)

@Centerfinger I bought a used Murry (B & S engine) for $40 from a guy down the street 3-4 years ago, wouldn't stay running at the time, he said.Cleaned it out, works great. Governor eventually broke, bit of bailing wire keeps it at the revs I want, instead of what the EPA demands...There are deals out there :)
