@anja Most cats seem to love it when you talk to them. Even though they have no idea what you are saying (and do not care to find out.)Dogs often seem to strain, trying their best to understand. Cats? #picatheCat sees herself as an *expert* conversationalist. You talk, she listens, responds: this goes on for as long as you can stand it. She seems to get more out of conversation than most people I know... despite only really understanding at most three words. ("Pica", "food", "birds")

@anja @futurebirdAnd then there are the above-average cats, who understand *way* more than you'd expect. One time I was talking with a friend about how conditions were such that my cat's fur was generating static, and she looked *very* offended at the idea that static had anything to do with *her*...

@pteryx @anja I think cats understand a lot more of the social and emotional content of conversations than they do words or logical connections. So I could see Pica understand she was "being blamed" without knowing about what and getting offended about it. Another example is Pica doesn't like being laughed at. (so I have to be careful because she can be funny) but it hurts her feelings somehow.

@futurebird @anjaThing is, I was discussing it more as a matter-of-fact thing rather than complaining about it.
