       sounds disgusting, but very close to reality. had seen some absolutely ignorant and pretty dumb people with degrees in sciences. they didn't have knowledge but had enough pigheadedness to ram through all the bureaucracy of defending process. while many smarter people gave up because the stupid obstacles on the way to PhD are incompatible with sanity sometimes.and yes. scientists sometimes fake their results. this is quite scary but nowadays nobody cares.

       @iron_bug @tobinbaker of course we care?! (About faking results). Whenever this is proven the studies involved have been retracted, as far as I know.
