Google Gemini refers to itself as "I" so why don't you?

seriously, it bothers me that y'all are behaving as an exaggeration of what a robot is rather than wanting to be like a robot.it's like those cat ears, fishnets and thigh-highs uwu nya nya people that Contrapoints finds cringe, despite wanting to accept everyone -- they're an exaggeration of femininity.i suppose it's like furries -- you want to actualize a fictional form of what you say you are, not the real one.

@sand dolls and robot girls usually rock the it/its pronouns.

@nico Yeah but they also say "it" when referring to themselves instead of "I", making themselves sound like a fool. Like they're talking in third person. As seen previously in this thread, Google Gemini refers to itself as "I" and has other people refer to it as "you" despite going by "it/its", and I'm pretty sure Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot does too. Is that not the normal way to refer to robots you can talk to? If that's the case, why do dolls and robot girls insist on using "it/its" in so many more cases than normal?

@sand but they do talk in third person, even some of their bios specifically say they prefer 3pp(third person pronouns). I wouldn’t consider an AI model an example. This is one of those things where they want it to be that way and there’s literally no harm in it, so I refer to them with their chosen pronouns and in chosen format.

@sand you and I disagree on furries and robots alike lmao I think it’s cute and they’re being themselves and I’m more than happy to do the same.

@sand @nico you should be more respectful of people's identities and preferred address, and also shouldn't use ableist slurs
