Status: still failure, and no soap. I suspect the reaction of aluminum + lye is similar to oil + lye, so the soap is usable to harden.

@ai6yr @johntimaeus if youre making soap it should be in a stainless pot. Aluminum produces a dangerous reaction with sodium hydroxide.
