@coolboymew Only with the analogue 3d the reset button actually works because it's not stuck from debris getting lodged between the button over years and years of build up.

@coolboymew @ergo Yeah the Analog 3D is great if you own a collection of legit carts. For me I don't have any N64 games so it's not the product for me. I'm content with PC decomp ports and re-releases on other systems at the moment to fill that N64 fix.

That sounds like a problem, especially with their claim of museum-grade preservation. Or is that it actually being accurate and just a quirk of the N64 being displayed at a higher res than was originally intended?

@apx @Calvin @vayda WatYou don't want it to, it uses the original design, except without the fuck ups of it being unlubed IIRC. The thing is that the original sticks are actually pretty decent overall (other than longevity) and you want that for the OG 64 IIRC

@coolboymew @Calvin @vayda original N64 controller used a crazy gear and optical sensor setup. NSO controller is a standard potentiometer joystick. Same as in controllers that can stick drift.The failure point of the original controller was the bottom of the analogue stick is a ball that grinds against the bowl of the joystick, wearing it out over time without really a way to solve it.They also struggled to consistently manufacture them to the same accuracy standards so they vary out of the box how much they matched the ideal range of motion.
