OK, so I've read Trump's 28-point peace plan for the Russia-Ukraine war and here are my comments on every point of it. You can read it yourself here:https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/11/20/revealed-trump-and-putins-28-point-peace-plan-for-ukraine/(Click "expand".)👇

"3. It is expected that Russia will not invade neighbouring countries and NATO will not expand further."Again, WTF? This needs to be more precise. Is sending military "advisors" to Ukraine "expansion"? Is building a huge military base in a NATO country that is the closest to Russia "expansion"? Russia wants NATO contraction to pre '90s membership - but this clearly isn't going to happen; I hope the Russians accept that.

"5. Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees."Like, what? Ukraine *had* "security guarantees" when it agreed to return the nuclear weapons to Russia. Didn't do them any good. NATO Article 5-like guarantees? So that one false flag by Ukraine can ignite a nuclear holocaust?

"7. Ukraine agrees to enshrine in its constitution that it will not join NATO, and NATO agrees to include in its statutes a provision that Ukraine will not be admitted in the future."This is too specific. What if NATO renames itself tomorrow? Why should obligations be put on NATO when resolving a Russia/Ukraine conflict? Ukraine should enshrine in its constitution not to join any military blocks, period. Also no foreign forces or military bases on its territory. That's the only way to make Russia feel safe.

"8. NATO should be kept out of this. The US shouldn't be imposing obligations on NATO anyway.

"9. European fighter jets will be stationed in Poland."WTF?! Again, this is an attempt to resolve a Russia/Ukraine conflict. Ukraine should not station foreign forces (fighter jets or anything else) on its territory. Europe can station theirs wherever they want, provided that the hosting country can and is willing to accept them. I don't care if it's Poland or Malta. Do not impose restrictions on Europe (or Poland) - impose them on Russia and Ukraine.

And it kinda makes sense. But some of the sanctions are not imposed by the US. The US shouldn't be telling other countries what to do. Concentrate on resolving this conflict, please. Russia and Ukraine are at war, the US is trying to make them stop. A peace plan should talk about obligations of Russia and Ukraine and offers from the US and nothing else.

The US will receive 50% of the profits from this venture. Europe will add $100 billion to increase the amount of investment available for Ukraine's reconstruction. Frozen European funds will be unfrozen. The remainder of the frozen Russian funds will be invested in a separate US-Russian investment vehicle that will implement joint projects in specific areas. This fund will be aimed at strengthening relations and increasing common interests to create a strong incentive not to return to conflict."Ho-hum. On the surface, this is good and just. All in all, the proposal contains some reasonable stuff, some bullshit, some stupid specifics, and some things that will be unacceptable to one side or the other (or both). Oh, yes, and it also contains typical Trumpian greed. Still, if it makes the war stop, it will be worth it. But I kinda doubt it.
