@lunafairy how can Wayland be gay if Hyprland runs in Wayland and everyone knows the Hyprland dev and it's users are LITERALLY fascists and make Gnome devs seethe?

@Suzu @lunafairy Hyprland got so gay the buffer overflowed. Now it causes gays physical pain. Thank you friend.

@Spooke @Suzu @Noraweed Expected, bloated and Wayland devs paid to arguing with each other for 5+ years to not merge code because they are too retarded and incompetent

@Spooke @Noraweed @lunafairy now, wanna know what's weird?I started using Niri, and I really like it. It is actually better for my workflow than Hyprland (I use a lot of GUI programs, and when a tiling window manager changes their width they act weird, Niri doesn't do that because it doesn´t need to fit everything in a single screen). And then I found out that the solo dev that makes Niri is also a Gnome dev. So they have actually good and talented people inside the project, but they are all suppressed and hindered by the trannies.

@Suzu @Noraweed @lunafairy niri is his solo or small group project. Gnome may have some good people working on the project but a majority of the project is plagued with mental illness and self righteousness. Gnome is also continuously failing to find funding for itself. Which means they just have so many ideologues that do fucking nothing except hold back desktop development with their catty bullshit.

@Spooke @Noraweed @lunafairy Honestly, can't wait for Valve to get fed up with their bullshit and go "you know what? We'll develop our own Wayland with games and prostitutes, and implement all the protocols we need and you fucking retards are delaying."Seriously, there is an issue to create a standard protocol for screencasting that is going back and forth for about 3 years, IIRC, and it isn't implemented because the solutions found so far aren't the super elegant perfect solutions that some sperg wants. So you have screencasting basically broken, with a bunch of different portal implementations that are a patchwork of half baked solutions that don't really work well.I was reading the mail list discussing this shit some time ago and my blood was boiling.

@Suzu @Noraweed @lunafairy I feel like valve is getting things done by using KDE as a cudgel to move things that they want across.KDE is the current DE for steam os and KDE gets a decent chunk of funding from valve.I still remember when Valve had on their official VR support page just saying don't use gnome. :Kekw: .Everytime gnome has a melty it feels like they alienate a big player. At this point the only reason why Gnome has such a stranglehold on market share is because it's by default on Ubuntu and Fedora. However the Fedora KDE spin was promoted to the same tier as the gnome distro. So I feel like the winds of change are upon us where gnome will fucking bite it or stop being a snowflake diva.Even tools that people use day to day like easy effects for their audio have moved from GTK to QT because GTK/libadwaita are ass.

@Spooke @Noraweed @lunafairy honestly, I still get mad with both Gnome and KDE sometimes. For instance: neither Gnome nor KDE have per display workspaces.Gnome only allows you to change the workspace in your "main" screen (the one with the bar and dock and all that shit), and KDE changes all the displays together (so when you go to workspace 2, every display will go to workspace 2).Both Niri and Hyprland can do it. Hyprland does it in a weird way where it kinda mixes global workspaces with per display workspaces, while Niri has a set of workspaces per display. But the point is that two projects by solo devs manage to implement a feature that seems like it's lost technology for the "big DEs"

@mischievoustomato @Spooke @lunafairy @Noraweed hmm, this is new. When I was using it, the workspaces were just for the "main screen" (the one with the bar and dock), and I remember complaining about it and the answer was "not gonna implement lol"

@Suzu @Spooke @lunafairy @Noraweed oh man I remember wanting to check out screen casting on Linux and coming to the conclusion that it doesn’t really work and it’s good to finally know that the reason why is that FOSS devs are useless faggots.
