i want something like Wine, but for AmigaOS applications, but, hear me out, the API/ABI would include chipset emulation and ROM. multiple mini Amiga VMs could still share a filesystem and message passing. Intuition windows could be mapped to wayland surfaces. a bit like Parallels used to work. maybe a hobby project that i could do in 2045

same could be done for classic mac and atari apps of course (as they're all m68k i imagine they could be mashed together in an unholy address space—as Shapeshifter did back in the day). i just don't know much about how those OSes work

my fantasy is that all apps from all old architectures should be able to be run on a modern linux desktop for preservation's sake, and not be confined to non-interoperating full machine emulators only. we can do this with windows and android apps already. i can play x86 steam windows games on my arm64 linux box. lets bring back the old stuff, too. those things are tiny and should have zero startup time now.

@mntmn There is https://mace.home.blog/ that is like WINE for classic Mac OS apps. It lets them run "natively" on modern macOS by implementing the ROM traps.
