       oh my god how does a messenger fucking REGRESS ON MARKDOWN SUPPORT BY REMOVING IT FOR NO REASONNNNN. in 2025. how. how. how. who even got that idea. markdown parsing is not that hard wtffffffand this thing is made in react/electron. its just html. html has this formatting stuff natively. theres markdown parsers that spit out html. what the fuck.

       @nachtpfoetchen delta chat (@delta). its an awesome as hell messenger (it is basically signal but better and more anonymous) but omg how do you even make that decisionhonestly i hope im not being too unkind to them (i am irrational levels of angry at this markdown removal) but like COME ONN

       @tudbut @nachtpfoetchen we understand it was irritating that we removed markdown on Desktop. Here is some background: https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-desktop/pull/5502Maintenability/bug-freeness/cross-platform consistency are key higher level concerns.  Besides, markdown is popular in tech-affiliate circles but not with the wider populations that #deltachat tries to accomodate.  When we circle back to markup (or down) support, we'll see to have a cross-platform approach.
