       @Cat Dorsey has let's say not a good track record. And I personally no longer judge technical project by their technology, but by their "governance", how it will be run, who runs it, how centralized is it, is it a defined protocol or is it proprietary. Because as far as tech itself goes, shit anyone can write "good" code. It's now the least interesting or important part. The fediverse is the only system that passes the sniff test. My skills and knowledge are old, but if it is not utterly and completely decentralized from release, basically just a defined interconnect protocol, I'm not interested. I've been meaning to write up "the way in which FidoNet was open" all year. I will. It wasn't open source. It was open protocol and documents, with a committee to help you implement the protocol.
