I'm not saying this to be mean, but I believe it needs to be said. The desire to keep one's privileged position in the capitalist hierarchy is deeply immoral and offensive. The evils of capitalism are so harmful, so insidious, that normalizing the decision to save one's self at the cost of others cannot be left unchallenged.We all know, or should know, that the relative comfort for many in the capitalist nations come at the cost of the suffering of countless others...

It is the product of genocide, mass murder, rape, wage slavery, prison slavery, immigrant and migrant abuse, child slavery, sexual slavery, and CIA funded dictatorships around the world.We benefit from a slave empire.Therefore, to speak the desire to keep one's privileges, without an accompanying statement of shame, guilt, and desire to change, is a jarring betrayal of moral conscience, and a clear act of emotional abuse towards those whose lives are torn apart in service of that privilege
