Honestly, I consider obsessing about age of Consent when it comes to FICTIONAL characters to be the absolute worst. I still recommend some manga/anime to my friends, who may not be much into it on their own, just because I enjoyed it myself, and think that they might too. Gatekeeping should be about repelling bad actors; obscurity is double-edged sword, as it keeps the medium from both people that would enjoy it as it is, and the forces of entropy.As for me, peak tourism is definitely localization BS and anti-fanservice stance, as those people barely interact with the medium, if at all, and only care about enforcing its ideological compliance.

By technicality when using the word like this, Lord of the Rings is a "journey to another world" within the reader's/viewer's imagination as they experience this fantastical setting that could not be in real life, but that's not how isekai is used for now. There's still a strict reliance on the fact that at some point, a character in the work is taken from our known world of Earth and then transported to a fictional setting.
