@Terry lets pretend russia only has 20% of the former soviet union's nuclear warheads in a functional state, the sheer number of warheads the soviet union built was retarded large enough to bankrupt the soviet state multiple times over so even 20% of that arsenal sums up to a stupid big number of warheads, and that stupid big number of warheads are the ones the russian state can stretch itself thin to give maintenance once every few decades, at that point quantity is a quality in on itself and in spite of having a larger landmass russia has far less critical targets than the jewnited states got.

Yes, you can "objectively" win a war, however Russia would still win any conflict since 20% of its arsenal is still enough to say "fuck you" to every major city and piece of infastructure.And more importantly, Moscow is supposed to be "unnukeable" due to our multiple treaties signed with the USSR, just as our "Star Wars" base in Washington is supposed to be "unnukeable", even in the worst case scenario, Russia still has Moscow and its surrounding infastructure (plus Siberia), and America will have... Part of Washington and Oregon? Lol.Ofc, I doubt anyone would follow those treaties, but regardless it just goes to show how practical the Russians are in comparison to their NATO Counterparts.

First, define "win" and then we can talk.I'd assert that whatever state we are in after a nuclear war, it could not be counted as a win, unless the alternative to war was extinction. Since extinction is not one of the predictable outcomes of our contention with Russia, winning a nuclear war is not on the table.

@BroDrillard @Terry Russians did a complete overhaul of their nukes back in the 2000s, we haven't done it since the 60s. Took us years to get a minuteman to finally work again. Also it would only take about 75 nukes to destroy the US, you need only target the major supply areas and choke points and the entire country collapses.
