I picked up a laptop at a junk store, and it's running windows 2000. It's old enough that I'm not sure it can boot off USB, but it's got a floppy drive:Is it possible to boot a floppy disk that can read NTFS and run NTPWD/Chntpw? or does that need a bootable CD/USB?

or maybe I could put plop on a floppy and that'd let me boot off the USB.

@foone Would it not be possible to extract the HDD itself and attach it to another PC/laptop instead?

@foone you can make an iPXE floppy and that'll netboot, I would suspect you could cajole it into USB boot. Either that or if you can get 2.6.21 small enough for a floppy you could kexec
