I'm curious when their sell-out to Chinese goods was πŸ€” Supposedly my grandpa (born 1920, Arkansas) knew Sam Walton & his original plan was selling AMERICAN goods cheaply to southerners, since many were still dirt poor...And look where it is now πŸ˜œπŸ™„

@GoyGirl @VaxxSabbath I remember when some weird "giant" store called WalMart came to our small West Coast town in the mid 90s (I'd never ever heard of it and thought the name sounded stupid) - one of the big selling pionts was that (supposedly) everything was "Made in the USA" - and there were USA flags all over all the products. A few years later, when I deigned to go in finally (they had an aquarium section back then), I found that half the stuff was Chinese junk the likes of which any other place would have been totally ashamed to sell (Target being one).
