       eGPU is additionally nice because the fans are big enough to be quiet, and the laptop itself doesn't get hot

       @mntmn@mastodon.social Better for easy connectivity, anecdotally better hotplug support, and I have long had serious concerns about oculink's connection cycles - afaik all of the connectors available are only rated to ~10 cycles (compared to USB-C's 10000 cycles usual)
