@JSkier @selea just pick up a Sensecap T1000-E for cheap, it will get you everything you need to explore. You don't have to muck about building any hardware and you interact with it over bluetooth from an iOS/Android app.

@feld @JSkier @selea I have one, but my area is barren and I haven't been able to get more units. It works wonderfully, though.My final goal is as a tag along for my dog when we finally get hiking! Insurance of she were to ever get lost.
