It's the equivalent of a suspended sentence. If he doesn't get another ticket for 4 months, the ticket goes off his record. Otherwise, both the texting ticket and the other ticket get added to his permanent record and he gets points on his license and raped on insurance.

@Hoss One of the most disheartening things I've encountered in the last ten years was going to traffic court for a minor ticket in a White working class area and seeing the mass of White people in that traffic court who work the marginal sh!t jobs our economy gives them and who were about to have their paycheck stolen for going 35 in a 25. It was the same muni that arrested a black guy for knocking out a teen girl working at a Chuck E Cheese and then let him go with 6 months probation or some such sh!t.

@s2208 @Hoss In my state traffic camera tickets are almost always optional as the private companies contracted to issue "tickets" can only do civic fines (if you don't pay it goes to collections at which point you tell them to f@ck off, if it even ever gets to that point which it never does because the "recovery" rate for such "fines" is around zippo).
