@futurebird I've basically been playing house for the past 45 years. I do have some pieces that were my parents' and parents-in-law's, but also a lot of thrift store stuff.

@futurebird Mix IKEA with inherited furniture, stuff from the give-it-away neighborhood group, stuff from surplus auction sites, and trash rescues. If you have two matching items in your whole place, you can probably afford to hire a decorator to tell you how to buy things that you will literally just smoosh your ass on while paying attention to something more important.
