@clacke After all useful comments are ones that adds information you can't otherwise get without going too much out of your way (like it's unlikely you're going to check version control before making a mistake).

Depending on the colleague, the inline code review, including spelling and grammar in comments, might be an actual enhancement.** but still energy-devouring, based on nonconsensually scraped training data etc etc

@SecondUniverse There's that, but even if you had an amazing experienced engineer writing the comment:If comments can be written simply by looking at the code, the case where they are worth writing is a rare exception.
