@All_bonesJones You can benefit from lightning buffing ring/tear and yea it’s kind of a bone to throw at dex builds because strength has stance break and the 2 handing buff. It’s very weapon dependent I think. You really have to look to see which ones get a major benefit or maybe just a quick swap before fighting a lightning weak boss. For example bloodfiend’s arm (I know I don’t shut up about it) has this thing where when holy infused your faith will scale both the holy and physical damage making it reach unbelievable AR levels. Might be a bug though.

@john_darksoul that's both an extremely disappointing answer and also exactly what i expectedthey REALLY shafted dex this time around, huh? having done some testing with your recommended night comet stuff i've revised my opinion a bit on int, it's no longer "carried by good weapons" but also "there's a gimmicky intgouge build that kills things fast but dies in 1 hit from anything and can't block" which is a viable niche playstyle. it feels like arcane > strength = faith ~= or slightly > int, and then dex is just three tiers below everything else

@All_bonesJones Yea, pure damage dex builds are simply outclassed by arcane based bleed builds. Realistically nothing can keep up with fast hitting bleed builds for dps, though. I do think the most beginner friendly builds are based on stance breaking and strength is the most efficient stat in the game.

@john_darksoul ironically outside of UGS the best stance breaker i've found is fuckin eleonora's poleblade when you don't lock on. the startup frames have hitboxes but they don't connect unless you unlock and tilt the camera all the way down and if you do it's two weapon arts to break almost anything's poiseeven outside of the insane bleed damage arcane's just fucked. hell that bloodfiend arm is arcane toostrength's still really good though, since it raises physical defenses and helps make you tanky. slap on a few faith buffs and you go from taking 80% to taking like 30%. you said dex for damage is outclassed, what's dex useful for outside of damage and i guess spellcasting? bows?

@All_bonesJones Yea I'm not so sure. At higher levels most dex favored weapons can just be occult infused if you want them to remain buffable and arcane gives you access to spells. Hell even strength has the clawmark seal for casting. Maybe the Backhand Blade? That's a cool weapon that I think is really primarily for dex builds and doesn't have any inherent bleed on it.

@john_darksoul oofyeah i guess the backhand blade has way higher scaling when keen compared to when heavythere's something deeply funny to me about how totally broken arcane is. it's running off the same value in memory that resistance and luck did in 1 and 3, and they've gone from it being completely useless to being completely op

@All_bonesJones Yea, it's stupid strong. It's also one of the better ones for casting because the dragon communion seal has really great arcane scaling so as long as you meet the faith requirement for a spell you're probably better casting with the DCS on an arcane build too. At least until you start hitting higher levels of faith where the erdtree seal would overtake it. You get phenomenal weapons, the best status, and a great miracle casting option from a single stat.One other note about dex, the sword of night. It's actually a very cool weapon that I want to try out. Weapon art is a faster waterfowl dance but with fewer attacks. Can't be infused so it's dex only.

@john_darksoul Man, dex is carried solely by a handful of good-enough weapons. I'm not even sure you'd want to use the backhand blade dex because of how good the str damage reduction is honestly. Heretical as it sounds, I think heavy katanas are still the best option outside of occult.

@john_darksoul oh i guess you're a good person to ask about this: do you know some super cheapass way to cheese out radahn at level like 1? not the dlc version. it's trivial to jump into his arena and to kill mohg, but i haven't found a good skill-free way to cheese radahn and get into the dlc after like 2 minutes

@All_bonesJones Not level 1 that I know of. Due to his arena and start I don't think he can be assassin's gambit cheesed. There are really good guides that go over how to script both mogh and radahn with bloodhound's fang for early dlc runs, though. Also if you've got the mogh cheese down Radahn can be cheesed with some poison arrows and the arena summons.

@john_darksoul oh true poison arrows. just have to figure out a fast way to get a bunch of poison/rot arrows without it being super tedious. i'd go with serpent's bow but that takes 11 arcane which is 1 too many for a vagabond with marika's seal and there's no other good source of early arcane the general idea is having a fast way into the dlc at the start of the game with essentially 0 investment into anything since killing radahn unlocks the varre sidequest and the varre sidequest unlocks mohg and mohg dies to a single healing spell, so you can get into the dlc after literally 2 bossesjump into his arena -> marika respawn to fight him -> varre sidequest -> warp to mohg -> kill him from out of bounds with the heal spell by despawning his arena -> dlc toys

@All_bonesJones @john_darksoul (My instance just crashed)I always rush golden fowl foot into killing greyoll for easy early levels. The game isn't too stingy with larval tears for respeccing either. If you were committed to low level runs I just looked it up and the Rotbone Arrow recipe is gotten from a merchant in caelid. Requires an aeonian butterfly and a best bone. Beast bone bell bearing just requires killing the lowest level bell bearing hunter in warmaster's shack. Only required farm is the aeonian butterfly and those are all over caelid.

@John_Darksoul @john_darksoul problem with rotbone is that i'm gonna have to kill bell-bearing hunter and he's a fucking trash bossfight with a 10 year respawn time, input reading, and has such low startup on his attacks doing anything from neutral can be punished due to input reading, leading to me usually deciding i'd rather use cheat engine than deal with a game that respects my time so little

@All_bonesJones @John_Darksoul The caelid hunter was probably my most difficult fight after Malenia on my first playthrough. Fun fact you can actually cheese a golem archer in the valley below to stun him for you. It requires some pretty good timing though.

@John_Darksoul @john_darksoul rotbone doesn't work here. his gravitas does like 90% and i'm not sure you can actually roll through it. i can get him into second phase reliably but i can't figure out a good solution past that. I heard there was some way to make him meteor into the water but i haven't been able to figure it out.
