If air traffic the controllers ignored the law that disallows work stoppage, the US would be at a standstill until they got whatever it was they they demanded. It's not like you can replace them. Maybe the military has some.... There's not many smallish disciplines with such concentrated power.

@tomjennings The law banning strikes by air traffic controllers should be found unconstitutional. Making them work without pay is a clear violation of the Eighth and the Fourteenth Amendments.
