@phnt so what this specific error means is it sets up the tcp connection successfully but it doesn't do what it's supposed to in a reasonable time (maybe just doesn't send data?)

@bajax It sends a POST request but didn't receive a response in time. A nullroute wouldn't even connect and a block in nginx would close the connection.

@dcc @phnt @Economic_Hitman I got DCCs messages but apparently on the other instance, they don't show up. that indicates the problem, as per the logs, is that my server can't contact his. But I get his messages fine, which sort of indicates it's working the other way around. Or at least that *fetches* don't fail, even though posts *are* failing.
