Since I was awakened by the Turquoise Alert, I was in my office editing podcasts, when a bunch of emergency vehicles approached. And then I heard what I've heard many times before outside of the city; A pack of #coyotes yipping and howling. They were clearly responding to the sirens.I ran outside and a pack of three were running down the street just outside my house. I shot a little video of them heading off.Never seen them this deep in the city before.https://youtu.be/U6em5rD5zpg

@LoneLocust I love coyotes in our city (LA). I love they they're smart enough to navigate it and thrive. Their urban adaptations, like howling to sirens. When I say this in public I often get the "but we need to protect our pets" folk. It worries me too and so at home, we're super careful about fencing, we have chickens too and we had one coyote attack tl;dr here. I like them because they remind us this isn't planet human but planet all of us. We need them. They're our peers. When they're around and we have to talk about them it's a solid step towards talking about the fact that we need to stop killing everything out of fear and practice, right here, on cooperating.
