I have to admit. I'm looking forward to the time change. I love it when it's dark when I leave for work. It makes me feel so mysterious. And there is something about the pre-dawn city that's just so glamours and soothing. I will find my stylish overcoat and narrate events in a gravely voice in my mind.

@futurebird I love this time of year because it is cold and dark, so yes, I too welcome the time change. Other than the fact that I have two dogs that will refuse to honor it. Alas I will not get my “extra” hour of sleep tonight. 😕

Honestly adjusting when I wake up by an hour is just too much for me. I could do it over the course of a year maybe. I just grouch my way through summer.

@futurebird I'm looking forward to the *next* time change.I'm still coming to terms with living toward the eastern edge of my timezone having always lived toward the western edge in other cities.Sunset at ~4:15 = 4:30pm just feels *wrong* to me.I really wonder what data might show about statistical differences (depression? bars v coffee houses? car accidents? Health? Walking/Biking V Driving, etc.) for east edge versus west edge cities and towns across all timezones.

@futurebird DST screws up all human bodies for weeks or months really. Literally, as in proven in studies and, er, basic logic and reason. Accident rates and etc all go up during the time around DST changes even. With modern light/etc systems, DST also doesn't save as much power as it used to. I suppose it still affects heating/cooling costs somewhat, but I'd be willing to bet not as much as costs in other things (such as fuel usage as people drive worse...)

@futurebird gives "got up early for graveyard shift" feel to the morning, doesn't it?

@futurebird This is also how I look at it. I can't acclimate to DST; I dredge through dealing with everyone else going along with it until, mercifully and predictably, it ends.I feel safer in the dark / fog for some reason and fall mornings are glorious in Baltimore.

@futurebird All the chronotypicals in the replies are somehow extremely funny to me. One hour fucks you up? Try living with 4+ hours off the inner clock, every day. What's one hour more or less? DSPD is fun! /lh

@maloki @daNanner The Prefect? (this is SF, but it's also noir inspired)
