It's a miracle that America's worked as well as it has. It's been relatively successful at assimilating a lot of different groups, but that only is feasible with "breather" periods of minimal immigration which allow the country to stabilize demographically. And it's only politically feasible to have these periods if new arrivals are sometimes willing to "pull the ladder up behind them" in service of their new countrymen as opposed to their old ones. The problem is that as soon as this pattern breaks, the floodgates open permanently and everything goes to shit. It's essential to confront the problem of certain groups that refuse to assimilate in order to keep the borders open for their tribesmen.

@ArdainianRight it also helps when you're opening up the gates temporarily for Irish, Italians, and Balkaners and not Nigerians, Moors, and Bedouins
