if you take out the copyright infringement, parts to repair/upgrade/test 3d printers, and the "that shouldn't be 3d printed, it's not safe" modes, would there be anything left on thingiverse?

@foone yes, there's a vibrant community of people printing containers for ikea pegboards, as I learned yesterday.

@munin I should look into that for my roommate, she's got a big pegboard and now that we have a supposedly working 3d printing she can probably make use of it

@foone I'm pretty sure I shared one model I created from scratch to adapt, uh, bass pickups, that is completely legal and safe.

@foone some fun little custom model kits and print-in-place gadgets I've seen, other than that it's storage primarily. But when you get right down to it, what else are you going to want to use a 3D printer for? Unless you're designing stuff yourself and prototyping you're probably just printing silly little things as a hobby. Or like... OpenRC F1 cars or some other big projecthttps://danielnoree.com/the-openrc-f1-build-guide/(I've made one, it's cool except getting the steering arm to fit inside the chassis is a pain and it's way too easy to strip the drive gear)
