@stux On a domestic or office computer, I think it must have been the version of Breakout that came on the starter tape with the Spectrum.I'd probably played cabinets before that point, though. (Space Invaders was probably old hat by that point, but I remember Defender, Zaxxon, and Tempest in the local swimming pool.)

@stux The first "game" I ever played was the edutainment game Playful Professor for the Commodore 64. This was mostly a math teaching tool, while the game element required you to go through a haunted mansion to get the key from the ghost and escape. https://www.lemon64.com/game/playful-professor-math-tutor

@stux I hesitate to share but...My first computer game was Colossal Cave Adventure. My dad was an early programmer and during the 70's he brought home a terminal for access to the data center on evenings and weekends.I was allowed to use it within reason and as long as he wasn't.CCA was one of the first things I stumbled upon.Damn, now I feel really old...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossal_Cave_Adventure

@stux Well.. I had two I became once as a Xmas gift. Don't remember which one was the first one, but I enjoyed very much and long time both of them. Rick Dangerous and Mayhem in Monsterland. Those games were for C-64 I still have. Mayhem was a masterpiece of coding and also sort of precursor for the later well known and popular Super Frog for Amiga computers.

@stux I can’t really recall details like that, but my best timeline reconstruction would be Lunar Lander on a friend’s VIC20, although Wikipedia claims that the VIC20 version was an unlicensed clone, called ā€œJupiter Landerā€.
