In my experience private companies do not report most scams to the police. It all goes under the radar. There are various reasons why this happens. One example is the football pools. If they know you are cheating but can not figure out how you are doing it, they tell you to stop doing it. I can't remember if they threaten to call in the police or they just promise to never pay out but they don't call the cops.Same thing with causing road accidents and claiming off your victims. They just tell you they know you are doing it on purpose and threaten to do something about it f you keep on doing it.I don't have personal experience of this type of scam other than someone trying to do it to me once but I heard this from a friend who knew a guy who would crash on purpose.I have seen the same thing with other types of scam too. There is a lot more crime because some people know this.I think it is just because most people want to do as little as possible in every situation. In the case of the football pools scam the people I am thinking of were too stupid to have different people winning different times and instead had the same guy at the same house keep winning. They could have told the lucky winner nothing and just posted the form for him so he did not know it was blank. Only they would have known how it was happening. They could have said they would make him win if he gave them 75%So simple. So safe. They were very very retarded. One of my uncles was filling in the forms in the post office and sealing the envelopes after they had been postmarked and put to one side waiting for the football results.I wouldn't be saying all this if there were any legal issues. It was long long ago and everyone involved is long dead.
