Saskatchewan's uranium mines are humming. Now, there's an $80 billion nuclear deal with the U.S.https://financialpost.com/business/nuclear-energy-deal-good-saskatchewan/wcm/9a33d72c-305b-4327-b3bf-12b3c2021171?utm_source=flipboard&utm_medium=activitypub Posted into Financial News @financial-news-NationalPost

@NationalPost @financial-news-NationalPost Canada should absolutely not do this. No uranium needs to be mined, and it's dangerous to introduce more into an already glutted nuclear world. The technology should be banned, not profited from.

@aka_quant_noir @NationalPost @financial-news-NationalPost What is your basis for saying this? The world we live in needs massive supplies of energy, in order to meet human needs while protecting the environment. Nuclear has the smallest environmental impact of the available energy sources, largely because it requires so much less mining and raw materials than wind or solar. A transition to a fully nuclear energy supply is possible without uranium mining, but difficult.

@publius @NationalPost @financial-news-NationalPost Look, while I disagree with you about nuclear technology, I am not interested in debating you about it. I accept that neither of us are ignorant, just that our perspectives differ. Feel free to delete or mute my posts if you can't get past this issue, and I'll refrain from commenting on yours in the future.
