I'm no Bernie Sanders and I never wear mittens, but I'm once again asking for your help, as I could use an input from real people.Would you say 120 euros for something like that is a lot, assuming you're in the market for embroidered hoodie for whatever reason, and considering it isn't a custom design that you had made? 🤔https://www.etsy.com/it/listing/4326973474/felpa-con-cappuccio-ricamata-fenice

@ThatCrazyDude Depends on material, would not for plastic. Love embroidery but have my doubts about this one. Maybe it's the pic but the bird seems too flat considering the density of stitches. You can see the relief o the flower on the left shoulder, it dimples a bit. That's what real embroidery does, the bird looks more like hot print or something. For cotton hoodie with real full embroidery? Yes. For polyester with combined vinyl/embroidery - no.

@ThatCrazyDude Not for any hoodie. Especially one that is borderline gay.

@morinka I'm pretty sure there's no heat transfer vinyl there, and there's some stuff embroidered on the front and on the sleeves too, but they don't say what the hoodie itself is made out of. Look for yourself https://www.etsy.com/it/listing/4326973474/felpa-con-cappuccio-ricamata-fenice . I'd imagine it's your regular 20 bucks fruit of the loom kind of blank, because that's what most of them Etsy people use. Anyways, I'm just kinda trying to gauge what output/income can you possibly get out of one machine ;)

@ThatCrazyDude But I sew, so I'm very picky about materials and their longevity. And can't wear much polyester but if the wearer is a "frozen fish" (like my man 😁), they might love it.

@ThatCrazyDude The biggest input and learning curve will be stabilizers, not machine. To be able to asses material you haven't got before takes a LOT of experience. Or tests - different fibers, weaves, thicknesses behave differently. So does threads. Changes in material need different needles, threads, tension, stabilization. It takes a lot of trials to get it right.

@morinka I'm aware. A few years back I got the wife a combination single needle sewing/embroidery machine from Husqvarna and frankly, I was the one fucking with it because she was, like, nah, computer bad and all, so I picked up a thing or two.But nowadays she says she feels like making some money on her own and she says she's willing to learn, so there's that ;)

@ThatCrazyDude Embroidery's super fun 👍🏻. And today a lot of resources. I know Craftsy had a class on machine embroidery, Sewing out loud had podcasts about that (they had shop embroidering on demand), and tons of YT vids for help. Hope you'll share some makes later 😉

@ThatCrazyDude personally i wouldn't but i wear a lot of Costco clothes so im not the market you want. With the right design and marketing these could sell. The price is steep for the average consumer but that doesn't mean you can't sell enough to make it worth doing. Marketing is going to be the biggest hurdle. If you can get it in front of the right eyeballs you can sell quality products. Good luck and if nothing else you will have a bunch of fancy clothes.
