@bestiaexmachina also tagging @davidrevoy, since he is creating/experimenting with digital art a lot on Linux.

@jacobscharmberg @bestiaexmachina Hey, I'm not familiar with MSI pen tablets. It can work out of the box, or not; depending if someone with a model like that did the contribution before to make it compatible. You'll have to test. For software; for the ones without official Linux version, prepare for compatibility layers, rare bugs, and hacks (and no help from official devs). Might worth to look if you can get your work done with more long term solutions that runs native: Krita, Scribus, etc...

@bestiaexmachina Affinity works but no graphics acceleration yet on AMD/intel cards at least. i've never used ableton and i know you are not asking for alternatives but if you are open to it you can try bitwig iirc is made by ex ableton devs and is familiar for ableton users afaik also it is native software so no wine headaches btw

@JoseMariaHDZ@stereophonic.space @bestiaexmachina@metalhead.club+1 for Bitwig β not a true Live replacement, but that is probably as close as one can get. Also, I belive Live works decently in wine, but if course it still handicaps the performance noticeably. I keep a Windows machine to use Live and other proprietary software and use Linux for everything else.
