@smirk what's the latest in easy forums to run? free; there's probably phpbb and vanilla around still. The other one got bought by KKR.there's also "federated" "chan-likes", but i suppose you don't have to federate, and you could just have a chan board.But a forum isn't something i've decided to run, yet, so i am not up-to-date...

They absolutely are. I did a bunch of phpbb stuff back in the day and getting a host with an ftp is all I need. LoL I'm just old man posting because I haven't yelled at the clouds in nostalgia in a while.

@smirk how hard is it to make sure you can export your data, to move to a different host?I'm asking you, specifically. i can deploy TKL images in like 3 minutes, but i don't want to care about someone else's data...I imagine bootstrapping it on a VPS or whatever requires myphpsql and apache/whatever and ftpd and... and...
