       "AI learns to lie", "AI learns to cheat", "AI develops self-preservation"...Here's the thing... AI "learns" nothing, AI is not an entity in the sense that humans or animals are. There's no one on the inside that has learned anything, there is no real persistence.It seems like something is learning if you've been conditioned into anthropomorphizing massive regurgitation machines. A pattern identification and reproduction machine trained on the patterns of the entire internet (including vast amounts of literature) will develop accordingly. Most literature includes plot twists around deceit, scheming, lying, cheating and deeply rooted self preservation instincts. So naturally something that's taught on such a corpus of text will end up mimicing that.
